Version 1, effective Oct 9, 2026
Welcome to Duelo Battleground. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Duelo website, web app and related services (together, the "Service"), operated by Apex Sports, Inc., a corporation registered in the Philippines (SEC Registration No. 2025010183990-00), with its registered address at Lot 18 Block 20 J. De Veyra Street, Carreta NRA, Cebu City, Cebu 6000 ("Duelo", "we", "us").
The Service lets you create an account, book badminton courts at our Venue, pay for bookings, view your bookings and match history, and follow and keep live scores.
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. Court bookings are also governed by our Booking, Payment & Facility Terms (the "Booking Terms"), which form part of these Terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal information. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
If you are under 18, you may use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, who accepts these Terms on your behalf and is responsible for your use of the Service.
You must give accurate information and may hold only one customer account.
You may not use the Service if we have previously suspended or closed your account for breaking these Terms, unless we agree otherwise.
2. Your account
2.1 Creating an account
To create an account you give your name, an email address and a password, and confirm that you own the email address by entering the code we send to it.
You may add further details to your profile, such as a middle name, a mobile number and a profile photo.
Keep your details accurate and up to date. We send booking confirmations, QR passes and other important messages to the email address on your account.
2.2 Keeping your account secure
Keep your password confidential and do not share your account. Use a password you do not use elsewhere.
You are responsible for activity carried out through your account, unless it was caused by our failure to keep the Service secure.
Tell us immediately at [email protected] if you believe your account has been used without your permission.
To protect accounts, the Service limits repeated sign-in attempts and repeated requests; an account or device may be temporarily locked after too many failed attempts.
2.3 Trainer accounts
Coaches may apply for a trainer account. An application gives the details requested on the application form and, optionally, documents proving the applicant's coaching background (a coaching certificate, for example from BWF, PBA or a school). An applicant who does not upload documents agrees to bring proof to our office for in-person verification.
Applications are reviewed by the Venue, which may approve or reject an application at its discretion. An applicant cannot sign in while the application is being reviewed, and is told the outcome by email; the reason for a rejection is sent to the applicant. A rejected applicant may apply again.
An approved trainer account may receive the trainer rate described in the Booking Terms. The Venue may deactivate a trainer account — for example if the trainer no longer coaches, or breaks these Terms — in which case the trainer rate no longer applies and the account cannot be used until it is reactivated.
A trainer must give truthful information and genuine documents. Submitting false or misleading information or documents is grounds for rejection or deactivation.
3. Bookings and payments
Bookings, prices, the booking fee, payment, rescheduling, transfers, no-shows and the court rules are governed by the Booking Terms. In particular, payments are final and non-refundable, except as stated in the Booking Terms.
Payments are processed by our payment provider, PayMongo. When you pay online you are taken to PayMongo's checkout page, and PayMongo's own terms apply to the payment itself. We never receive your card number or e-wallet credentials.
4. Live scoring, scoreboards and public display
The Service includes live scoring. A match is scored on the scorer screen opened from a booking's QR pass, and its score is shown live on public scoreboards, on display screens at the Venue, and in match histories and statistics.
What is shown publicly: the names of the players in a match (first and last name), their profile photos if they have one, any team names the scorer enters, and the scores and results. Match results also count toward player statistics that can be viewed on the Service. Email addresses are never shown publicly.
When you are added as a player to a match, you agree that this information may be displayed as described. If you prefer not to be shown by name, you can be added to a match as a guest under a name of your choice instead of from your account.
A scorer who adds a guest player (someone without an account) and enters that person's email address must have the guest's permission to do so. The email address is used only to link the match to the guest's account if they sign up later.
The QR pass works like a ticket. Anyone holding a booking's QR pass can open the scorer for that booking. Share it only with people you want to use your booking, and keep score fairly and accurately.
5. Acceptable use
When using the Service, you must not:
give false information, impersonate another person, or create an account for someone else without their permission;
use another person's account, QR pass or booking reference without their permission;
enter false scores, or interfere with a match you are not part of;
enter offensive, abusive, discriminatory, or misleading team names or other text, or upload a profile photo that is offensive, infringes someone else's rights, or shows someone else without their consent;
attempt to make bookings you do not intend to pay for, or to hold courts in bulk to block other customers;
resell bookings in a way the Booking Terms do not allow;
probe, scan or test the Service for vulnerabilities, circumvent its security or rate limits, or access data you are not authorised to access;
scrape, copy, or collect data from the Service by automated means, or use bots to make bookings;
interfere with the Service, overload it, or introduce malware;
use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
6. Your content
"Your content" means anything you add to the Service, such as your profile photo, team names, and documents you upload with a trainer application.
You keep ownership of your content. You give Duelo a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display and process your content only as needed to operate the Service — for example, showing your profile photo on a scoreboard during your match.
You confirm you have the right to upload your content. We may remove content that breaks these Terms.
7. Our intellectual property
The Service, including its design, software, logos, the name "Duelo Battleground", and its graphics and text (other than your content), belongs to Duelo or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, modify, distribute or create derivative works of it without our written permission.
8. Availability of the Service
We work to keep the Service available and accurate, but it is provided "as is" and "as available". It may sometimes be unavailable because of maintenance, updates, or problems outside our control (for example internet, payment-provider or hosting outages).
Court availability shown on the Service is updated continuously but can change between the moment you see it and the moment you book; a booking is only made once our system confirms it.
We may change, suspend or discontinue features of the Service. Where a change materially affects a booking you have already paid for, the Booking Terms apply.
9. Third-party services
The Service relies on third parties, including our payment provider (PayMongo) and our hosting, storage, email and real-time data providers, as listed in our Privacy Policy. Your use of a third party's own page or app (such as PayMongo's checkout or your e-wallet app) is subject to that third party's terms.
10. Suspension and closing your account
We may suspend or close your account, cancel pending bookings, or refuse future bookings if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms or the Booking Terms, give false information, act abusively towards staff or other players, or use the Service fraudulently. Where reasonable, we will tell you why.
You may ask us to close your account at any time by contacting [email protected]. Closing your account does not cancel or refund paid bookings, and any unused store credit is forfeited (see the Booking Terms). Some records are kept after closure, as explained in the Privacy Policy.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Duelo is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profits, lost opportunities, or travel costs, arising from your use of the Service.
Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the booking the claim relates to, or, if the claim does not relate to a booking, ₱1,000.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, wilful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Philippine law, including your rights under the Consumer Act of the Philippines (Republic Act No. 7394).
Liability for injuries at the Venue is addressed in the Booking Terms.
12. Indemnity
You agree to compensate Duelo for reasonable losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from a claim by a third party caused by your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or your content — except to the extent caused by our own fault.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms, for example when we add features or when the law changes. The updated version is published on this page with its effective date. When we make a significant change, we will email you about it and ask you to review and accept the new version the next time you sign in; if you do not accept it, you may close your account. Minor changes (such as corrections or clarifications) take effect when published.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines.
If you have a complaint, please contact us first at [email protected] so we can try to resolve
We aim to respond within 7 business days.
Before going to court, you and Duelo agree to try in good faith to settle a dispute by discussion for 30 days from the date either side raises it in writing.
Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally shall be brought before the proper courts of Cebu City, without prejudice to any right you have as a consumer to bring a complaint before the Department of Trade and Industry or another competent authority.
15. General
If any part of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
You may not transfer your account or your rights under these Terms to someone else. Letting someone use a booking is covered by the Booking Terms.
These Terms, the Booking Terms and the Privacy Policy together are the whole agreement between you and Duelo about the Service.
